Standard (EADGBE)

 INTRO AND VERSE:

Pre-chorus

Chorus

Any Other Way by Tenth Avenue North (LONG HAND)

Intro

Don't say goodbye, don't say hello.

We're just standing on the surface.

Don't say alright, Don't say I know.

I promise it's not worth it.

I want to know who you are

Even if you're fallin' apart

Reach in and touch your scars

All the shame you've kept in your heart

It's not enough, it's not enough, just to say that we're okay.

I need your hurt, I need your pain. It's not love any other way.

Let's not pretend, stop your parade

Trying to convince me

That you're alright and everything's okay

Do you even know me?

I already know who you are

And all the things that kept us apart

Reach in and touch my scars

Know the price I paid for your heart

It's not enough, it's not enough, just to say that you're okay.

I need your hurt, I need your pain. It's not love any other way.

 A broken, contrite heart,

 I will not despise.

 Come as you are.

 I won't close my eyes!

 I won't close my eyes!

 I won't close my eyes!

 I won't close my eyes!

It's not enough, it's not enough, just to say that you're okay.

I need your hurt, I need your pain. It's not love any other way.

It's not enough, it's not enough, just to say that you're okay.

You need my hurt, you needed my pain.

It's not love any other way.

It's not love any other way.

It's not love any other way.

Just in case you're not certain what a "C7" is, it is a C chord with a B note (the

seventh note above C)thrown in. Here's one simple way to play it on piano and guitar:

GUITAR: If you play a regular C chord and just take your finger off the B string, then

you have a C7 chord:

normal C chord:

e- 0 (play open)

- 1

- 0

- 2

- 3

E- x (mute)

chord:

- 0

B- 0 <---- open B string, giving the C chord its 7th

- 0

- 2

- 3

- x

PIANO: Very simple here. To play a C7, all you have to do is stretch your fingers and

add the B on top of the root triad (C-E-G chord --> C-E-G-B for C7)

Yes, this means FOUR fingers playing one chord :O

Now, when I play this song on piano, I start off the verse with a 2nd inversion C chord,

and from there the C7 is super easy. All you gotta do is play what looks like an

inversion of an Em chord but still play a C in the bass; so basically, you just switch

out the C in your 2nd inv. C major chord with the B right next to it. It's a one finger movement,

not so difficult. :)
