Standard (EADGBE)

when we were kids we played dress ups

and now we just play up

looking back on all my childhood memories

when we´d fight we wouldn´t have to break up

when I´d sneak out I didn´t need to slap on some aftershave

that would probably gibe me away

I gotta ask myself some hometruths

cause on the face of it

I just can´t see how we can make up

Refrain

she wasn´t play acting when I heard her tell her friends on the phone

 "I need a wife, a lover, a sister, a nanny and a nurse

I can´t play so many roles at once"

cause when we were kids we were wearing daddy´s oversize suit

and slipping out of mumma´s shoes and now we´re just a breaking apart
