Standard (EADGBE)
Notes: The Dsus after the D in the last line of the verses isn't required. I play
it to give the song a slightly higher pitch right leading into the chorus. When
you play it, make sure you hit the first string U/U/D/U and then change back to a
D after that U/U/D/U strumming sequence. Give it a try, I think it sounds better
that way. Also, on the 4th line of second and third verses, Marc mutes the C
chord right after switching to it and finishes the line "a cappella." Then start
up with G again normally on the next line. Same thing with the last line on the
third verse - mute the G and then it's a cappella until the G in the beginning of the chorus.
Intro
h = hammer on

Verse 1
Old pirates, yes, they rob I
sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
from the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
by the hand of the Almighty.
We forward in this generation...triumphantly.
Chorus
Won't you help to sing
these songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have,
redemption songs.
Verse 2
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
none but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy
C -> mute
'cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Some say it's just a part of it
we've got to fulfill the book.
Chorus
Won't you help to sing
these songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have,
redemption songs.
Verse 3
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
none but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy
C -> mute
'cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
while we stand aside and look?
Oh,some say it's just a part of it
G -> mute
we've got to fulfill the book.
Chorus
Won't you help to sing
another song of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have,
redemption songs.
These songs of freedom
these songs of freedom
All I ever have...
