Found a box of memories,
[G/f#]
Read a letter, Dropped a tear where you signed your name.
And turnin' the page, smearin' the ink and the love always.
Girl I always start this way.
[G/f#]
Then I wind up in a bottle screamin' out your name.
And Punchin' the walls, carryin' on like I've gone insane
In the mirror I can see the man that just shook his head with no remorse
Watched an angel cryin tears packin all her things as she walked out the
door
Chorus
Cause there ain't nothin' like a memory
When it's comin' on strong like a hurricane
How can love like that just up and walk away
It's killin' me baby
[G/f#]
It's got me pourin' up another drink
Bourbon's hittin' me hard like a freight train
With my back against a wall or on my knees
| [G/f#] |
When the worst of your memory gets the best of me
Verse 2
I remember it all too well
[G/f#]
Ridin' 441 down to Milledgeville
And Crossin' the bridge, while the sun set on Lake Saint Claire
I couldn't wait to see your smile,
[G/f#]
but all I saw was tears in you pretty eyes
And That said it all, it was all down hill from there.
And I remember you saying baby please don't give up on me
All but baby this stubborn man is gonna lie in the bed he made
Chorus 2
Cause there ain't nothin' like a memory
When it's comin' on strong like a hurricane
How can love like that just up and walk away
It's killin' me baby
[G/f#]
It's got me pourin' up another drink
Bourbons hittin' me hard like a freight train
With my back against a wall or on my knees
| [G/f#] | |
When the worst of your memory gets the best of me
Chorus 3
(chords in background)
Cause there ain't nothin' like a memory
When it's comin' on strong like a hurricane
How can love like that just up and walk away
It's killin' me baby (full sound on chords now)
[G/f#]
It's got me pourin' up another drink
Bourbons hittin' me hard like a freight train
With my back against a wall or on my knees

This is in my opinion Jason Aldean's best song yet. And it's a shame that it
probably won't hit the radio.
