Standard (EADGBE)
Intro
Well I can see the street lights pass me by,
Out into the darkness from the light.
And you grew up a dancer, yes, I grew up as your friend.
If I get to Ohio, hope I see you dance again.
Now I can see the street lights pass me by.
Two more hours and I won't need these lights.
And I could hear you singing through your window way back when.
If I get to Ohio, hope I hear you sing again.
Chorus
But hey hey summer rose, did you wither long ago?
Did you shed your peddles like my teeth upon this road?
Or are you walking barefoot down your stairs,
Spinning records, red rose in your hair?
And do you smile gently while the rest just make amends?
If I get to Ohio, hope I see you smile again.
Outro
(Listen to the song to hear how Austin goes in and out with the his strumming)
Well hey hey summer rose, did you wither long ago?
Did you shed your peddles like my teeth upon this road,
Where I can see the sun burn through the clouds,
and I can feel this heater burning out?
And I can think of everywhere that I have never been.
If I get to Ohio, hope I never leave again.
But if I get to Ohio, hope I never leave again.
**TIP: When you're going from a C chord to a G and then an Am chord like when he
sings "I grew up as your friend" in the beginning, you don't need to play the big E-
string with the G chord. Instead, simply take your middle finger off the D-
string and place it on the 2nd fret of the A-
string when your going from a C chord to an Am chord. This transition is used in alot
of songs, and is al so in this one at times.
